Granted “Museum of France” status by the Ministry of Culture and frequently described as “the most charming” museum in the Rhône-Alpes region, the Maison Faure showcases art covering the period from the 17th to the 19th century in a sumptuous villa.

Its walls are graced by a superb collection of Impressionist works, but the museum is particularly proud of its 34 sculptures, the 2nd collection of works by Rodin after the eponymous Museum. This is an ideal place to discover the history of Art and its various movements: Romanticism, Academism, Realism, Pre-Cubism…

As well as some local literary history: a reconstruction of the room occupied from 1816 to 1830 by Alphonse de Lamartine, the town’s emblematic poet and writer.
